On 30th August 2015 the annual Blessing of the sick was held at the Basilica of Our

 

Lady at Tewatte.

 

This year the Chief Celebrant and Special Guest was His Eminence Raymond Cardinal

 

Burke, former Chief Justice of the Vatican.

 

His Eminence Cardinal Rajith with His two Auxiliary Bishops as well as the Archdiocesan

 

clergy was present at this annual Archdiocesan event organized by the new

 

Administrator Reverend Fr. Victor Jayamanne.

 

Very Reverend Mgr. Neville Joe Perera was present too.

 

It is reported that over 10.000 pilgrims came and asked for the grace of healing from

 

the illness's sufferings.
