The Honorable Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has called on His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and has obtained blessings this morning (25/08).

 

The meeting took place at the Bishop's House in Colombo. Subsequently to the meeting the Prime Minister told journalists that the government along with the President expects guidance of the religious leaders to restore national unity in the country.

 

The premier pointed out such guidance is immensely important at a time where the new government is committed to create a new country.

 

Bishops Harold Anthony of Kurunegala, Valence Mendis of Chilaw, Raymond Wickremasinghe of Galle and Auxiliary to Colombo Maxwell Silva partecipated in the meeting.
