Christmas Holy Mass & Celebrations

at Infernetto - 2016

Christmas Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Monsignor Neville Joe Perera as Chief Celebrant in Infernetto, Rome South Parish.

Reverend Fr. Saman Maximus, Assistant Parish Priest co-celebrated the Holy Mass and preached the homily to  a large crowd of Srilankan faithful.

In His homily Rev. Fr. Saman invited the faithful to imitate the Holy Family in the day-by-day life. He further stressed the need for every Christian to renovate the Faith and try to be a better person as We celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ Our Saviour.

The previous week, the Annual Parish Christmas Celebration took place at the Auditorium of St George at Acilia.

The Final Blessing was given with the relic of Holy Cross by Rev. Mons. Neville.

The relic which is a part of the Cross where Jesus Christ was crucifixed will be brought to St. Joseph's church at Pamunugama Parish in the Archdiocese of Colombo.

The relic was gifted to Mons. Neville by the Prelature of Opus Dei, the custodians of Holy Cross's relics in Rome.

Rev. Mons. Neville Perera thanked those who worked hard for the successful Parish Christmas event and Rev. Fr. Saman who was capable to prepare the parish Choir for Latin and Italian hymns.
